The greatest gift you can give someone is your time, because when you give your time you are giving a portion of your life that you will never get back.~ Rick Warren One of the ways to deepen intimacy between you and your partner is understanding how you give and receive love (love languages). It is different for everyone and being able to identify your love language can have enormous benefits for your relationship. One of the most important love languages in my opinion, is quality time, which is “showing love and affection by spending dedicated time together.”(Mbg Relationships, 2020) Dedicated here is referring to no distractions. So, no cell phones, no computers, just being completely present. We get so caught up in the daily grind of things, we lose sight of one of the key things that keep the relationship together. So how do you identify if quality time is your love language? You get upset if plans between you and your partner were canceled You feel that the time together between you and your partner makes you happy You put in a lot of effort to find ways to coordinate your different schedules Spending time with your partner is just important to you (Mbg Relationships, 2020) Once you identify that this is your love language, you can find ways to spend time together and start to build that emotional connection that you are looking for.
