I know Steve Dropkin personally. He was the cantorial solist/choir director at my previous temple in Fresno and alsowas an an amazing musician. We sang this song at one of our Thanksgiving services in the Fresno, CA community area, so I wanted to post it.
Will we know, where to go, when we’re looking for direction?
Will we learn, to discern, and to seek out different ways?
Then we’ll see, choose to be, as we try to heal the future And we’ll stand, hand in hand, with a message that will say…
Chorus: We can change, we can build, we can reach to one another We can work, can dream, in the world that’s yet to come We can help, we share, we can always love each other We can laugh, we can cry, striving for Tikun Olam!
Will we find, peace of mind, while we struggle with the questions?
Will we heed, to the need, can we answer to the call? Hear a voice, make a choice, for the children and their parents
See a light, within sight, as we rise up one and all! We can change, we can build, we can reach to one another
We can work, can dream, in the world that’s yet to come
We can help, we share, we can always love each other
We can laugh, we can cry, striving for Tikun Olam!
Bridge: We have a chance to find, freedom for humankind Our caring torch aglow And we’ll march to the light, defining wrong from right
Our hope and strength will grow
When we change… We will change…
